Talking Heads frontman and serial collaborator David Byrne has his latest partner in crime picked out -- none other than indie rockstress St. Vincent. The pair have announced a Sept. 11 release date for 'Love This Giant,' a long-in-the-works album that's been on hold as both have been busy with other gigs.

"We just started writing and kept writing and writing," Clark told Rolling Stone of the genesis of the collaborative album, which features a dozen new songs. Ten are penned collaborations between the two, with one additional track attributed to each of them and vocals split evenly between the two. "It just evolved to become this much bigger thing," added the singer, concluding: "David Byrne is the coolest person on the planet."

Hard  to argue with that.

Byrne and St. Vincent also are teaming up for a North American tour this fall, during which they will be performing both tunes from 'Love This Giant' and from each of their respective solo careers. The duo will be backed by a live band featuring a brass section for the trek, which launches on Sept. 15 in Minneapolis, Minn.
