Dead Stars, ‘Leaving’ – Free MP3 Download

A band after Hum's own heart, the Brooklyn trio Dead Stars offer up the track 'Leaving' as they gear up for the release of an EP in 2013. These guys are winning me over because I was always a sucker for those late-'90s and early-'00s bands with the "spacey" sound. Dead Stars are a bit more rock 'n roll than Failure, with almost a latter-day Hopesfall thing going on, if you guys remember when they tried to get out of the metalcore corner.

"'Leaving' is about destroying something you love because it's the only way to get away from it," Dead Star member Jay Moore told Diffuser.fm. "Then realizing you can't live without it, only to find that it's too late. Or something."
