Jack White Welcomes Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita to Band

Between playing in Queens of the Stone Age and the Dead Weather, Dean Fertita seems like he's pretty busy. And he just got a little busier. According to Third Man Records, Fertita is joining Jack White's band as the piano and keyboard player for the rest of White's tour.

Fertita is filling in for the late Ikey Owens. Owens suffered a fatal heart attack while in Mexico. Jack White canceled the rest of the band's shows there. Fertita will take over on the keys when the band starts its U.S. and U.K. tours next month.

Fertita is finishing up with Queens of the Stone Age's '...Like Clockwork' tour. That tour wraps up on Halloween at the Forum in Los Angeles. Erstwhile QOTSA bass player Nick Oliveri will  rejoin the band on stage that night for a handful of songs, as well as performing as the opening act.
