Ween star Dean Ween will release his first-ever solo project, The Deaner Album, on October 11 via ATO Records, according to a post on the guitarist's Facebook page.

As you'll notice from the post, Dean (Mickey Melchiondo) is intentionally keeping most of the specifics about the long-awaited album under wraps – "I don't wanna share any of it for once – not even the artwork, which is super-dope" – presumably in order to preserve the sense of surprise that has all but disappeared from the record-buying experience nowadays.

He does reveal that the album contains 15 songs, has a running time of 57 minutes and features a dream team of guest stars: "Everyone in the entire world that I ever wanted on my album plays on it. Like 30 people." Dean also mentions that the album has "no artist, no title," so perhaps "The Deaner Album" is more of a nickname. Whatever you call it, judging from the new songs he's been playing onstage with the Dean Ween Group lately, it's going to be awesome.

Dean Ween's most recently released album was 2013's Moistboyz V, from his long-running hard rock band of the same name. In addition to touring with the Dean Ween Group, Melchiondo has recently been hosting a weekly "Invitational Jam" at John and Peter's in his hometown of New Hope, PA. "We have a house band of all-star musicians including some celebrities that play every Wednesday night at 9pm sharp until closing," he explains. "Good musicians with a positive attitude are encouraged to sit in with the band."

Ween, the band, reunited this winter after a three-year split, and have been playing festival shows and special residencies ever since. Their next scheduled appearance is August 21 in Philadelphia, Penn., and you can get all their tour dates right here.
