Zachary Cole Smith, the man behind the dreamy, guitar-driven Brooklyn-based indie outfit DIIV, recently sat for a video interview with Diffuser.fm, and while the cameras were rolling, he treated us to a special performance of the tune 'Human.'

Smith prefaced the two-and-a-half minute song by saying he wrote it about "life." That's a rather broad topic, but once he got going, he did, indeed, seem to draw on his own experiences and emotions, delivering an affecting version.

Rocking a bright yellow tee and neon cap, Smith runs his fingers up and down the neck of his white guitar as if romancing his special lady. He mostly keeps his eyes on the guitar and the mic, but the intense focus pays off, and the echoing vocals feel full and honest. It's like you've stumbled into your own private DIIV show.
