Just a couple of weeks after we found out they existed, the Divine Fits -- a new band featuring members of Spoon, Handsome Furs and New Bomb Turks -- have given us a glimpse of what we can expect from their upcoming debut album.

Actually, "glimpse" might be overly charitable -- this is really just a 45-second snippet with brief bursts of vocals, set to a lo-fi clip of a furtive blob of light skittering against a black background. What does it all mean? We're not sure, but we do know the band is planning on releasing the complete LP later this year on Merge Records.

As we reported earlier, Divine Fits the new musical guise adopted by Spoon's Britt Daniel, Handsome Furs' Dan Boeckner and Sam Brown of New Bomb Turks; they're reportedly now in the studio with producer Nick Launay, whose earlier credits include records from Arcade Fire and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

How the Fits' music will fit in with Launay's previous clients -- or even its members' other bands -- is hard to guess from this little bit of music, but if we were intrigued by Daniel, Boeckner, and Brown's partnership before, we're even more eager to hear what they're up to now. Something tells us we won't have to wait long.
