Downtown Events has announced the first set of dates for the 2013 Downtown Music Festival series. On May 10-11, the fest will take place in New York’s Lower East Side and feature performances by Sky Ferreira, Palma Violets and Earl Sweatshirt. These and other artists will perform in such intimate venues as the Bowery Ballroom, the Mercury Lounge, Pianos, Cake Shop, Element, Tammany Hall and Angel Orensanz.

Other artists signed on for the festival include Black Hippy, Beach Fossils, Purity Ring, DIIV, Trash Talk, Royal Teeth, Ducktails, Black Dave and Teengirl Fantasy, Inc. Stay tuned, because dozens more acts will be revealed in the coming weeks.

For the first time, the Downtown Music Festival is branching out and presenting live music in a number of North American cities. Following its first stop in NYC, the fest will run through the downtown areas of Boston, Denver, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Toronto and L.A. in the summer and fall.

Two-day passes for the event are on sale now, with a limited number of early bird tickets available for $79. Single-day passes go on sale Friday, April 12 at 11AM EST.
