Swedish rock outfit Dungen have already finished their follow-up to last year's Allas Sak LP.

The band's next release, titled Häxan and reportedly due to arrive as part of Record Store Day Black Friday on Nov. 25, is an album-length outgrowth of their recent work creating a new score for the 1926 German animated film The Adventures of Prince Achmed. Recorded in analog, the record serves as Dungen's first all-instrumental effort, and is preceded by the pre-release track "Jakten Genom Skogen," which you can stream above.

"Maybe the sound now is about some vague feeling of authenticity. Raw basic recording live in the studio as much as possible," bassist Mattias Gustavsson suggested earlier this year. "Our live shows are a lot about the interplay between us, I think, and ... create something ecstatic and ethereal. A release of some kind."

"We usually get lumped into the psych bag, which is both right and wrong," added guitarist Reine Fiske. "In a way, it easily puts a stamp on the music. [Bandleader Gustav Ejstes] and the Dungen thing has always been very song-based with possibilities for improv and the odd craziness. Gustav has a strong sense for the structure of songs and he is a master in recording, producing, and creating a certain soundscape with his records."
