Historically, music awards like the Grammys have been fairly limited when it comes to recognizing electronic music artists. British DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold and L.A.’s TV4 Entertainment will soon take matters into their own hands, launching the first-ever Electronic Music Awards this spring, and today (Feb. 18), the Electronic Music Foundation has announced the inaugural nominees.

Disclosure, Jamie xx, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, the Chainsmokers, Galantis, Major Lazer, DJ Snake and Diplo are all up for awards. Album of the Year nominees span Alina Baraz and Galimatias’ Urban Flora; Harris’ Motion; Disclosure’s Caracal; Galantis’ Pharmacy; and Jamie xx’s In Colour. The Single of the Year category includes Harris and Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love”; the Chainsmokers’ “Roses”; Galantis’ “Runaway (U & I)”; Kygo’s “Stole the Show”; and Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On.” In contrast, Skrillex and Diplo's joint effort, Jack Ü -- which ran away with all of the electronic music categories at the Grammys -- doesn't appear among any of the Electronic Music Award nominations. See the complete list at the bottom of the page.

The ceremony will take place on April 14, and it will broadcast on Fox on April 23 at 8PM EST. Watch the promo spot at the top of the page.
