In 2014, Signature Sounds celebrated its 20th anniversary as a record label, and unlike some others in the industry, its 20th year happened to be its most successful (thanks, in part, to Lake Street Dive's Bad Self Portraits). On March 3, Signature Sounds will issue a celebratory collection of music from over the years, Signature Sounds 20th Anniversary Collection: Rarities From the Second Decade.

The collection isn't just rarities, though; it will also feature several new songs, and today (Feb. 17), Diffuser is thrilled to premiere one of those tracks, Kris Delmhorst's beautiful collaboration with Jeffrey Foucault, "If This Ain't Heaven." Check it out in the audio player below.

Throughout the hopeful track, Delmhorst's gorgeous vocals are backed with Foucault's soothing guitar work, espousing the sentiments we wish we could feel all the time: "If this ain't heaven, honey, I don't ever need to go / If this ain't heaven, honey, I don't even need to know."

"Last winter we spent about a day and a half in the studio burning through exploratory versions of dozens of songs as part of pre-production for a duo album," Delmhorst tells us. "Most of it was just sketchbook stuff that on one will ever hear, but this track had a nice vibe that came together on its own ... a little sprinkle of magic dust."

Signature Sounds 20th Anniversary Collection: Rarities From the Second Decade hits the streets on March 3 and will be available on CD and digital formats. You can pre-order your copy here; all pre-orders come with two instant downloads.

As for Delmhorst, she's on the road throughout the spring celebrating not just Signature Sounds' 20th anniversary, but also her latest full-length, Blood TestYou can get details on her entire discography, as well as her complete tour itinerary, at her official website.
