The school board for Garden Spot High School in New Holland, Pa., probably didn't expect global news coverage of its decision not to allow its marching band to perform a Fall Out Boy song. But now Fall Out Boy themselves are stepping into the public relations fallout too.

FOB bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz said he heard that the marching band had been ordered not to play the band's hit 'Thnks Fr Th Mmrs' due to questionable lyrical content — regardless of the fact that the band obviously plays only instrumental interpretations.

Wentz addressed the issue during a performance this week. "We just wanted to say that we stand on the side of creativity and making music," he said. "We appreciate the hard work that went into doing that."

He then made an offer that his bandmates apparently had yet to sign off on. "We would like to come back to your school and perform a different song with your band at your school at some point — a song that is sanctioned," he said.

You can watch video of Wentz' offer above.

The marching band was also prohibited from performing Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out of Heaven,' according to Lancaster Online. No word on whether Fall Out Boy will play one of Mars' songs if they visit.
