Fresh off last week's release of I Love You, Honeybear, the second album under his Father John Misty moniker, Josh Tillman has shared a stripped-down rendition of Nirvana’s In Utero single, “Heart-Shaped Box.” Take a listen to his cover below:

Father John Misty performed the Nirvana song during a visit to Sirius XMU earlier this month. The singer-songwriter’s version comes just in time to make it a nice belated Valentine’s Day gift for fans – and perhaps a consolation to those who bought the deluxe edition of I Love You, Honeybear only to discover the LP’s packaging damaged the vinyl within.

Following a series of oddball performances – including one with a karaoke machine and the very memorable, piano-lounging rendition of "Bored in the U.S.A." on Letterman – the indie-folk singer has taken his show on the road. The European leg of his tour kicks off on Feb. 22, then Tillman will make his way back to the States on March 25. Check out a full list of dates over at Sub Pop.

I Love You, Honeybear follows Father John Misty’s 2012 full-length, Fear Fun.
