Frank Ocean and Depeche Mode's Martin Gore have teamed up to record a song together. The tune is slated to appear on Ocean's follow-up to his critically acclaimed debut, 'Channel Orange.'

It's nothing if not an odd pairing, but it's one we're anxious to hear nonetheless. Two luminaries from different generations and genres coming together on one track is bound to make for an exciting listen.

Gore's Depeche Mode bandmate Dave Gahan broke the news of the Ocean/Gore collaboration, which was recorded in New York.

"Suddenly in the doorway, I sensed this presence, and I realized there was this guy standing there just watching," Gahan said. "An assistant came up to me in between songs and said, 'Do you mind? Frank Ocean is here working in another studio and really wants to meet you guys.' I wouldn't have thought he would have even known who we are, but it turns out he's a big fan."

Sounds like Ocean has good taste in music, in addition to crafting quality tunes.

Gahan said Gore "did some electronics and some modular synthesizer stuff" and expects it to end up on Ocean's record, which be one of the most anticipated of whatever year it comes out.
