Frank Ocean, ‘Pyramids’ – New Video (NSFW)
Frank Ocean goes cinematic for his ‘Pyramids’ video, a sprawling, eight-minute NSFW short film shown in letterbox that opens with the sharply dressed singer shooting up bottles behind a bar after downing a few shots. The video then alternates between scenes of him drunkenly staggering through a strip club and cruising through the desert on a motorcycle while clearly still under the influence.
There’s also an appearance by John Mayer, who handles the tune’s bluesy solo, plus a few sonic snippets of other songs off Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ album. The clip was directed by Nabil, who previously helmed Ocean’s ’Swim Good’ and ‘Novacane’ videos, along with clips for Bon Iver, Kanye West and others.
