Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff believes that now is the time to act in support of marriage equality. As such, the musician has filmed a public service announcement voicing his support of the Human Rights Campaign's 'Americans for Marriage Equality' initiative.

Antonoff and his band have been using their newfound celebrity throughout the year to show their support as straight male musicians standing up for the LGBTQ community. Earlier this year, the guitarist penned an oped piece for the Huffington Post called 'Straight Allies: The Importance and the Realities,' in which he spoke about why now is the time to take a stand.

He recalled times in the past where homophobia presented itself in conversations with others in his social and professional circles and rather than make a situation awkward by challenging it, he chose not to ruffle any feathers. But, he adds that the time has come where social comfort should take a back seat to right and wrong. "Social paralysis is strong and stands firmly in the way of change on the ground level," explains the guitarist. "As allies, we have to prepare ourselves to step into the fire when necessary, even -- and especially -- when said fire is merely a still-lit cigarette tossed carelessly onto the street."

In addition to his editorial piece, Jack and his bandmates have teamed with the Revel and Riot organization, which champions LGBTQ causes, and have invited them to have representation on their tour this year.
