It's clear that Gaslight Anthem love their classic rock. The band has performed with Bruce Springsteen over the years and have name checked Tom Petty in song. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that the group has decided to cover a song from one of their musical idols.

They're in fine form with their take on the Tom Petty classic 'You Got Lucky.' Whereas the 1982 version featured Petty providing an embittered swipe at an ex with a somewhat nasally tone, Gaslight Anthem singer Brian Fallon has just enough gruff in his own voice to give his band's version that same Petty attitude with a grittier vibe.

The track is a B-side to '45,' the lead single off of Gaslight Anthem's forthcoming album, 'Handwritten,' due on July 24. It's currently available as a 7-inch at select retailers. The group has a string of tour dates in July surrounding the record release to promote the disc, and they will return in September and October for newly-announced shows with Rise Against and Hot Water Music.
