While on tour in support of his new solo record, Hesitant Alien, Gerard Way and the Hormones made a stop in Tokyo to perform for a packed house at Akasaka Blitz last night (Feb. 16) -- but it was no ordinary show. Way brought out his brother and My Chemical Romance bandmate, Mikey Way, to play bass on Gerard's song "Don't Try." You can watch fan-filmed footage of the performance below.

The song was originally intended for Hesitant Alien, but it has yet to be released, making its live debut in England last month. Personally, we love it and can't wait for it to get a proper release.

When they cue out of the song, Gerard gives his brother a loving embrace and assures the audience that he'll be back in Japan soon. Check out Gerard's Instagram photo of his brother onstage:

Mikey's own side project, Electric Century, recently debuted their second single, "Let You Get Away," which you can check out beneath the "Don't Try" footage. His new band is expected to release their debut album -- which was recorded and mixed by D. James Goodwin in Woodstock -- later this year.
