In their latest attempt to show that they're culturally relevant, the television show 'Glee' will feature a version of Gotye's hit 'Somebody That I Used to Know' on its April 10 episode. The cover will be sung by Darren Criss, who plays Blaine Anderson, and Matt Bomer, making his 'Glee' debut.

We're not sure of the plot (nor are we particularly interested, considering we gave up on the show early in its run), but the episode is called 'Big Brother' and Bomer's character is named "Cooper Anderson." (Anderson Cooper? Get it? Is this mic on?) In other words, we can safely assume that this scene functions as a showdown between the brothers as they try to work out longstanding issues through song.

In fairness, it's a very strong version of 'Somebody That I Used to Know.' Even if we don't know why two brothers would be singing what is clearly a breakup song, no less want to conduct their argument in front of a band, they act out the tension in the lyrics quite effectively. We can't necessarily say that we'll be tuning in next week, but at least we can always track down this performance if we want to hear it again.

Still, there's no way we can endorse Criss' red pants. If they were shiny we'd think we were stuck back in Kool & the Gang's 'Misled' video.
