Google Fiber — a cutting-edge Internet service based on fiber-optic communication —originated in Kansas City and plans to expand to Austin in 2014. The ad features Austin-based psych-rockers White Denim and their catchy single ‘Shake Shake Shake.’

The track is from their ‘Workout Holiday’ LP, which dropped back in 2008 via Full Time Hobby. In a review, NME called the tune "a 60s surf song filtered first through Johnny Thunders, then Mogwai" and wrote that the album’s “songs begin fully-formed before spiraling into abstract drum loops punctuated by slicing guitars and vocal drones.”

They’re hard at work on a new studio effort, a follow-up to 2011’s ‘D,’ with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy producing the disc. Fun fact: they opened for Wilco on their West Coast tour last winter. You may have also seen them at the 2012 editions of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, where they performed alongside Athens-based folk-rockers Futurebirds.

White Denim are gearing up to hit the road this summer on a trek that kicks off on June 7 at New York’s Mountain Jam fest. Click here to view the complete list of tour dates.
