Grass Is Green, ‘Big Dog Tee Shirt Birthday Weekend’ – Exclusive Song Premiere

Heading into their latest album, 'Vacation Vinny,' experimental Boston indie punksters Grass Is Green sought to expand their melodies and "embrace the noise" at the core of their sound, according to a press release. If those sound like contradictory impulses, they're not incompatible -- at least not on the new single 'Big Dog Tee Shirt Birthday Weekend,' premiering today on Diffuser.

The tune is mangy and elliptical enough to mark this foursome as something unique -- not quite '90s alt-rock or indie, not quite punk -- and yet its catchy enough to hold your attention for the entire 3:30. The band is sure to make lots of new friends in the coming weeks, as they head out with buzzed-about Massachusetts rockers Speedy Ortiz on a DIY tour of the East Coast (dates below).
