SXSW 2013 is right around the corner, and Green Day have just been added to the lineup. The venerable pop-punk trio is scheduled to perform on Friday, March 15, at ACL Live at the Moody Theatre after screening their documentaries ‘Broadway Idiot’ and ‘¡Cuatro!’

‘¡Cuatro!’ focuses on the making of '¡Uno!,' '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!' taking fans on a journey through the creative process behind the trilogy of discs. ‘Broadway Idiot,’ meanwhile, is the story of how the band's 2004 album ‘American Idiot’ became a musical. Click here to watch the moving trailer.

The performance at SXSW -- or the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference and Festival, as it's formally known -- serves as Green Day’s first appearance at the Austin event and marks their return to the live music scene following frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s onstage meltdown at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas last year, which resulted in a postponement of tour dates while Armstrong sought treatment in rehab.

The film screenings are open to SXSW Film, Gold and Platinum badge holders, Music Press badge holders, Film Wristband holders and Idiot Club winners, and the live performance is open to SXSW Music and Platinum badge holders, SXSW Showcasing Artists and Music Wristband holders and Idiot Club winners.
