Green Day have announced release information for their upcoming American Idiot documentary Heart Like a Hand Grenade (check out the movie trailer up above).

The film, directed by John Roecker, captures the nine-month process behind the trio’s 2004 punk rock opera concept album American Idiot. The movie will make its way to U.S. theaters as soon as next week on Oct. 15. The next day, it will be made available on Vimeo On Demand.

On Nov. 11, Heart Like a Hand Grenade will receive an international release in the U.K., Canada and Europe -- just to name a few locations. Then, on Nov. 13, the movie will be issued as a digital download and on DVD via Reprise Records.

“We can’t believe this was shot over a decade ago,” frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in a statement. “Little did we know that this was only the beginning of the adventure this record would go on to be. We are stoked for our fans to see this footage for the first time and watch us try and figure it all out.”

You can find a list of participating movie theaters at this location, and the documentary can be pre-ordered right now at Vimeo.
