At the beginning of the week, Grimes unveiled the title and cover art for her forthcoming album, Art Angels. Now, she’s shared an snippet of new music.

In a completely blacked-out Instagram post, the singer-producer -- aka Claire Boucher -- previewed a 15-second excerpt of a thundering, new track. If we understand her caption correctly, it was taken during rehearsal. Listen below:

Hopefully, the preview is a sign of more to come soon. When Grimes shared Art Angels’ cover, she promised she would debut new “music & video” this coming week. In May, the Canadian artist tweeted she would surprise release the album in October, because she wants “fans to get it b4 press and the tracks should be heard together.” She has since deleted that tweet.

Grimes kicks off her Rhinestone Cowgirls tour tonight (Oct. 24) in Santa Ana, Calif. She has more North American stops scheduled through the end of next month, culminating with a two-night stint at the Metro in Chicago on Nov. 24 and 25. Nicole Dollanganger will serve as her opening act for many of the dates. See a complete itinerary at the singer’s website.
