With all the albums Guided by Voices have released over the years, it's easy to lose track of when exactly all of those records came out. But Robert Pollard and company somehow remember (despite losing all those brain cells to their massive drinking binges), and are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their masterpiece, 1994's 'Bee Thousand,' with a beer brewed in its honor.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is introducing -- wait for it -- Beer Thousand, an "imperial lager, chosen to echo the copious amounts of lager that fueled GBV’s garage recordings," according to the brewery's website.

"I can't believe it's been 20 years," Pollard said in a statement. "But I'll drink to that." Duh -- of course he will.

If you're hoping to add this brew to your summer drinking list, you have a couple of options: It will be available at the band's show in Madison, Wis., tonight, or you can just head to Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach, Del., where it will be on tap while supplies last.

But don't worry if you're nowhere near those places. Later this year, Beer Thousand should be available in 30 states, along with a 10-inch live recording of a Guided by Voices show from June 25, 1994. And on Aug. 21, they'll play a special concert at the Milton Theater not too far from the brewery.
