In between her solo work and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O has been busy working on movie and TV soundtracks. Most recently, she covered Animotion’s “Obsession,” which will play over the title sequence for the upcoming Starz ballet drama, Flesh and Bone. Now, the YYY frontwoman has penned an original song for a new Tomb Raider video game.

O delivers “I Shall Rise” for Rise of the Tomb Raider, which hits shelves on Nov. 10 via Xbox One and Xbox 360. The song will be available in full tomorrow (Oct. 30), but you can hear a preview in the game’s trailer at the top of the page.

“They wanted drama and high stakes and melodrama,” O told Rolling Stone of the song. “That was very appealing to me because I love making music connected to a storyline. It was all stuff I loved like having the theme song to [Lara Croft] becoming an icon and the creation myth to the moment she becomes Lara.”

O also noted that all of her projects are on pause as she focuses on her “full-time job” as a new mom.

“I’m in babyland at the moment,” she said. “It’s all quite fresh and I’m technically on maternity leave right now, so everything is really up in the air. I’m going to see how it pans out over the next few months with how to move forward with projects. But I’m so ensconced with having my first baby, that I’m just going to wing it and see how it goes.”

That also applies to O’s work with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who have been on a “bit of a hiatus” since the end of last year.
