Horror Movies That Inspired Songs

Rock music and horror flicks go together like little kids and Halloween candy. While it's impossible to track down the first instance of a rock song title being inspired by a horror movie, the tune ‘Psycho’ that was featured on Seattle-based garage rock band the Sonics' 1963 debut album, ‘Here Are the Sonics,’ may very well be it. Either way, there are numerous instances of a variety of rock acts -- punk bands, garage rock bands, psychobilly bands and more -- that draw inspiration from horror movies.
