Jools Holland's TV show boasts the best-sounding studio for live music. Either that or bands are just so pumped to be there that they end up kicking much ass when they perform. Last night, three awesome acts took the stage on 'Later ... With Jools Holland' -- the Horrors, Afghan Whigs and Little Dragon -- and indeed kicked much ass.

The Horrors' new album, 'Luminous,' just came out yesterday and to promote it, the band played its dance-inspiring single 'So Now You Know' -- our favorite performance of the night. Just clean, consistent indie rock. You can see it above.

The most veteran band on the show, Afghan Whigs, also have a new album, 'Do the Beast,' which is the reunited group's first record in 16 years. They played 'Matamoros,' which you can watch here:

Little Dragon, whose latest album 'Nabuma Rubberband' comes out next week, performed their trancey, well-tempered single 'Klapp Klapp.' Unfortunately, that video has been pulled, so you can watch them play it on 'Letterman' instead.
