They come from the Smiths' song 'Unhappy Birthday,' which can be found on their great final album, 1987's 'Strangeways, Here We Come.'

The song also includes these festive lines penned by the ex-music writer who once panned the Ramones:

"I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday, because you're evil and you lie."
