The Red Hot Chili Peppers' video for 'Californication,' the title cut from their 1999 album, plays out like a video game. Each of the band's four members is turned into an animated avatar, swimming. snowboarding and racing an adventure.

'Californication,' the band's seventh album, marked the return of guitarist John Frusciante, who had left the Chili Peppers in 1992, following the release of their breakthrough album, 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik,' the year before. The song was the fourth single released from the LP, making it to No. 69 on the pop chart and No. 1 at modern rock.
