Jack White spent his Thanksgiving weekend in his Detroit stomping grounds, opening a brand-new Third Man Records storefront.

The Detroit store opened its doors just in time for Black Friday on Nov. 27 and, according to the Detroit News, was greeted by hundreds of shoppers lined up around the block despite the rain. You can watch a video of Third Man Cass Corridor’s grand opening up above, plus more videos and photos at the bottom of the page. The grand opening included performances from hometown rockers the Gories and Timmy’s Organism, plus Third Man’s own Lillie Mae Rische.

White teamed up with Tom Kartsotis, the founder of Detroit-based manufacturer Shinola, to purchase additional space at Shinola’s flagship store on Canfield Street in Cass Corridor. This is Third Man’s first brick-and-mortar presence outside of its headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. Shinola has expanded its operations to include the manufacturing of speakers, turntables and headphones. White will also open a record press in the Detroit neighborhood in the near future.
