In one of the best vinyl marketing campaigns of all time, blues rocker Jack White has done it: His latest solo LP, 'Lazaretto,' was officially the best-selling vinyl release of 2014.

The announcement comes after the final sales week of 2014 drew to a close. The Ultra LP version, released via Third Man Records and Columbia (which came complete with a floating hologram of an angel) sold a whopping 86,707 copies in the U.S. and 150,000 worldwide. With such a feat, 'Lazaretto' also posted the most vinyl sales in one year of the Soundscan era.

If that wasn't enough, the LP has been nominated for three Grammys (including Best Alternative Music Album as well as Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance for its title track). It also made our list of the Top 10 Albums of 2014.

White and his Third Man peeps also broke the record for World's Fastest Released Record by recording and releasing a 7-inch single of the title track within hours.

Rock on, Jack White. Rock on.
