Watch JD McPherson Perform ‘Let the Good Times Roll’ on ‘Letterman’

JD McPherson dropped his sophomore full-length, Let the Good Times Roll, earlier this month, and last night (Feb. 25), he celebrated with an appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman, where he performed the LP’s title track. If you missed the show when it aired, you can now see it in the video above.

McPherson lit up the Letterman stage with his retro-inspired roots rock, and the show’s host stood up and took notice, even requesting to join the band as their sixth member. Digging McPherson and company’s old-school style, Letterman aptly asked, “Then after the show, we fight drunks, right?” The Tulsa, Okla.-based singer-songwriter’s response was, of course, a resounding “yes.”

Following his appearance on the Late Show, the singer has tour dates scheduled between February and mid-June, which includes stops at the Rhythm N’ Blooms Festival in Knoxville, Tenn., the Old Settler’s Music Festival in Driftwood, Texas and Queen of the Prairie Festival in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
