For a man promoting a solo album -- 'Regions of Light and Sound of God,' out today on ATO -- Jim James sure got a lot of help last night on 'Jimmy Fallon,' where he performed his tune 'A New Life.' Teaming up with Fallon's house band, the Roots, the My Morning Jacket frontman was backed by no less than a three-man marching-band percussion section, an orchestra featuring woodwinds and strings, three acoustic guitar players and a xylophonist -- and those are just the musicians that weren't hiding in the shadows.

James returns tonight to appear alongside the Roots throughout the show. Who knows, maybe he'll also sit in when musical guests Local Natives take the stage.
