Doves’ Jimi Goodwin Announces Solo Album, Premieres ‘Oh! Whiskey’

Doves’ singer, guitarist and bassist Jimi Goodwin has announced the March 25 release of his debut solo album, ‘Odludek,’ and in anticipation of the forthcoming long-player, he’s also unveiled the lead single, ‘Oh! Whiskey.’

The acoustic ode-turned-lament to the titular drink drips of folk, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that style dominates ‘Odludek.’ According to the singer, the album will be diverse in sound and won’t adhere to one genre.

“I wanted to make this mad mixtape, the kind you’d pass back and forth with your mates; eclectic as f—,” Goodwin said of the upcoming album. “That’s the way we’ve all discovered music of the years, isn’t it? We join our own dots to make it all make sense.”

“It’s not trying to be willfully eclectic; it’s just a reflection of how I schizophrenically devour music,” he added.
