With his sophomore solo effort, 'Playland,' on the horizon, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has been pumping up the new album off of the success of its single 'Easy Money' -- which has already reached No. 1 on the Alternative Radio charts. Today (Sept. 8), Marr has announced a slew of North American tour dates in support of the new record.

The 11 song 'Playland' (due out Oct. 7) will serve as the follow-up to Marr's critically-acclaimed debut album, 'The Messenger,' picking up right where he left off -- again with producer James Doviak.

Tickets go on-sale this Wednesday (Sept. 10). You can get more details about the tour and new album here.
