Johnny Marr, ‘The Messenger’ – New Video

Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has gone solo and unveiled a brand-new video for ‘The Messenger.’ The black-and-white clip depicts the British musician making his way from the forest to the sea, accompanied by his shadow.

The song is the title track for his upcoming solo debut, scheduled for a February 2013 release via Sire Records. In addition to performing with the Smiths, Marr has produced or played for a variety of bands, including Modest Mouse, Talking Heads, the Cribs and Pet Shop Boys. As a solo act, he recently appeared onstage with Dinosaur Jr. for a special New York City show.
