Watch Josh Homme Perform With His Side Project Eagles of Death Metal
Though Queens of the Stone Age may be in the midst of a break, frontman Josh Homme recently showed up at a show in Paris with his side project with Jesse Hughes, Eagles of Death Metal. Lucky for us, a concertgoer caught the band performing “I Want You So Hard” on video -- watch it above.
Homme and Hughes founded Eagles of Death Metal back in 1998, and released their most recent album, Heart On, in 2008. Last year, the band said they had started working on a follow-up, however, Homme said they were taking their time.
“We’re just kinda working at a reasonable, sort of casual pace,” he told Australia’s the Music. “We’ve got wandering and ambling down to a science.”
Perhaps Homme’s appearance at the Eagles of Death Metal show earlier this week -- a rare sighting -- is a sign of new music to come. Currently the band has several more European dates on the books before they venture stateside for Riot Fest in Denver and Chicago on Aug. 28 and Sept. 11, respectively. They’ll also make an appearance at Afterschock Festival in Sacramento, Calif., on Oct. 24. Check out a complete list of dates on the band’s website.
Back in March, Queens of the Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman revealed the band were taking a break following an extensive tour behind 2013's ... Like Clockwork.
“There will be future stuff with Queens,” he said. “We’re just taking a break since we had a long, long two years of touring. We’ll take a break to do other stuff."
