After releasing "Woman (Oh Mama)" last month, Joy Williams has now shared the track's official music video.

Co-directed by Sanji and Ben Redmond, Williams shows her veracious and natural side throughout the visuals. The clip focuses on closeups of the singer and starry silhouettes of her dancing. And while it might seem quite simple as a video, Williams makes up for it in her delivery of the track. The moment the camera closes up on her face, the viewer is instantly drawn in with her conviction and passion.

“So much of this music video (and the upcoming album) is about acceptance, transcendence, forgiveness and growing stronger for having stared into the darkest places within myself," Williams explained in a statement. "That’s when the light begins to appear, the transformation."

And if you're wondering why she was cool with doing away with the clothing in parts of the video, she says, "I am a universe wrapped in skin. Maybe too much skin. But I felt I needed to show who I was from the inside out. Who we all are.”

"Woman (Oh Woman)" is the singer-songwriter's lead single from her upcoming debut album, VENUS, which is set for release in the middle of the summer via Sensibility Music/Columbia Records. Aside from her collaboration with Paramore on "Hate to See Your Heart Break" last year, this is the first record she's put out since the Civil Wars broke up.

She is slated to play at Islington Assembly Hall in London on May 6, the Gramercy Theatre in New York City on May 14 and El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on May 19; find more information on these show at her website.
