R. Ring is the new project headed up by Kelly Deal, known for her work in the Breeders, and she is taking this new thang on the road for the next few weeks. The tour kicks off in her home base of Dayton, Ohio, and hits spots in the midwest and east coast before winding up in Pittsburgh in August.

R. Ring -- comprised of Deal and Mike Montgomery -- are set to issue a split single with Kentucky-based garage rockers Quailbones. The 7" will feature the two respective songs "Singing Tower" and "A Tip to Trick the Tide" and will be released this July on vinyl and digital formats via Sofaburn Records. With one split coming, one is already here thanks to the Hardly Art label. R. Ring and Detroit-based post-punk band Protomartyr shared a 7" titled "A Half of Seven." R. Ring's featured song on that slab of wax is titled "Loud Underneath."

Though both Deal and Montgomery are from Dayton, her Dayton is in Ohio, while he resides in Dayton, Kentucky.
