Kendrick Lamar has been hitting only home runs as of late, and he'll soon (hopefully) see some success at an actual baseball stadium: The Los Angeles Dodgers confirmed on Twitter that the rapper will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on April 27, when the team hosts the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium:

It's historically been hit-or-miss for musicians throwing out first pitches: Jack White and Eddie Vedder both did rock proud, but Mariah Carey performed poorly in Japan -- and 50 Cent's horrific aim is now infamous. Hip-hop needs a baseball hero, and if Lamar's recent penchant for success is any indication, his arm might be the one to redeem the genre.

Then again, Lamar's probably been too busy to practice: He's been all over the place the past month, promoting his wildly successful album, To Pimp A Butterfly, debuting the music video for "King Kunta" on a billboard in Times Square, performing a surprise concert on the back of a truck and probably working on new music with Dr. Dre.

Lamar doesn't start touring until May, so he'll likely have time to get a pitch or two in before April 27. In the meantime, check out the video for "King Kunta" and his upcoming tour dates below.
