Is there anything sadder than Christmas in L.A.? Not if you like snow and sweaters and hot chocolate -- and definitely not if you're a struggling actor from Middle America who misses home and the girl that got away. Such is the premise of 'Christmas in L.A.,' the eighth consecutive holiday single the Killers have recorded for the AIDS charity (RED).

Featuring vocals from Dawes, the markedly synth-free alt-country single comes complete with a mixed-media video, which premiered yesterday at Rolling Stone. In the clip, Owen Wilson portrays the down-and-out thespian, while Harry Dean Stanton makes a cameo as himself and offers Wilson's character some advice. There's also some sweet animation from students at Brigham Young University. Spoiler alert: director Kelly Loosli doesn't wrap things up in a nice big bow, but there is hope for a happy ending, as you can buy the song on iTunes and help (RED) with their fight against AIDS.
