By the time Lana Del Rey took the 'Saturday Night Live' stage for the second time on that fateful night in January 2012 to perform 'Blue Jeans,' the damage had been done: The up-and-coming indie chanteuse's coming out party was deemed a failure. The fallout included a canclled tour and mountains of negative press, but what was lost in all the uproar was the fact that despite the deer-in-headlights performance, her music was actually pretty damn good.

America, of course, loves a comeback as much as a collapse, and Del Rey has since not only recovered, but flourished. 'Blue Jeans,' the second single off her 'Born to Die' debut, has since helped fuel nearly a quarter-million in sales of the album.
