Not even four months after the release of Lana Del Rey's debut album, 'Born to Die,' high-brow British brand Mulberry has announced the production of the first item of LDR-inspired luxury goods. Priced at $1,250, the Del Rey is a women's handbag featuring deer brown grainy print leather, soft gold components, internal and external pockets and a Postman's Lock enclosure. It also reportedly comes in black

The item's description on Mulberry's online catalog says it best:

The Del Rey was inspired by American singer Lana Del Rey’s nostalgic references to bygone glamour and her playful contrast between retro and modern luxury. The Del Rey evokes simple refined elegance and timeless luxury as well as the easy sensibility and English common-sense practicality of our heritage icons. The style has a silhouette that implies structure yet it is soft and tactile in the best Mulberry tradition.

It's not the first time Del Rey has been linked with Mulberry. During London Fashion Week in February, the singer sat in the front row -- and next to actress Michelle Williams -- of Mulberry's Autumn/Winter 2012 show, later performing an acoustic set at the event's corresponding dinner at posh nightspot the Saville Club. And earlier this month, LDR turned in a performance at a Mulberry-sponsored dinner in New York City as part of the Frieze New York fashion event on Randall's Island.

We're not quite sure who Mulberry are targeting with the Del Rey, but we assume it's not the same crowd she's referring to with the line "Drinking in a small town firelight / Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice" in her 'Blue Jeans' lyrics. Maybe there are Del Rey fans out there who can drop $1,200 on a hand bag, but we've yet to meet them.
