Lana Del Rey Named ‘Woman of the Year’ by British GQ, Goes Naked on Cover
Lana Del Rey has scored yet another magazine cover, and this time around the sultry singer has stripped down to celebrate. The occasion is Del Rey's selection as Woman of the Year by British GQ, and with that honor comes the singer completely naked on the front cover of the October issue of the magazine. LDR was on hand at the GQ Man of the Year Awards ceremony on Tuesday at London's Royal Opera House to accept the honor, even offering a few words of thanks.
"I really am thankful to everyone at GQ because they've been supporting me for awhile. We had a very beautiful shoot in Monaco," she said during her acceptance speech, speaking of the location of the photo spread that accompanies her piece in the magazine. "I also had a very interesting interview, for a change. I was reminded of why I love to sing and why I wanted to become a writer."
As Jezebel points out, LDR's cover -- one of five different ones printed in October for the Men/Woman of the Year issue -- is the only one with the model naked, although some strategically positioned knees and ankles manage to cover up her nether regions.
The pictures don't feature her brand-new dye job, which turned her signature auburn waves into shiny chocolate brown looks, but she did show off her new hairdo at the actual Man of the Year Awards ceremony.
