LCD Soundsystem have developed quite the following since their formation in 2001. Fans were distraught to discover that the dance rockers were hanging up their instruments a decade later. They played a farewell show at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 2, 2011, and a film crew was on hand to document LCD Soundsystem's final days for the film, 'Shut Up and Play the Hits.' A clip from the documentary can now be seen.

The video, first posted on Pitchfork, features frontman James Murphy and his crew performing 'Dance Yrself Clean,' off of their 2007 album, 'This Is Happening.' It was LCD Soundsystem's third and final album before announcing their disbandment last year.

'Shut Up and Play the Hits' follows Murphy on the day of the Garden show and morning after. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and will be released in select movie theaters for one night only on July 18.

Pre-sale tickets are now on sale. Find a complete list of theaters screening 'Shut Up and Play the Hits' here.

LCD Soundsystem's last show at Madison Square Garden sold out almost instantly, but not without controversy over scalpers snatching a high amount of tickets. The show lasted over four hours and featured appearances from Arcade Fire, comedian-musician Reggie Watts and more.
