Liam Gallagher Announces Release Date and North American Tour for ‘As You Were’
Liam Gallagher, the former lead singer for Oasis — who has most notably made headlines in recent years for publicly flinging creative insults at his brother and former bandmate Noel — has revealed details about his forthcoming debut solo album As You Were. The record is due out Oct. 6 via Warner Bros. Records/Parlophone Records.
Gallagher has already released his first single, “Wall of Glass,” and fans who pre-order the album will receive an immediate digital download of the song, and will be able to get the second single, “China Town,” when it arrives on June 30.
The album will be available digitally as well as on CD and standard and limited edition colored vinyl. A special boxset will include the color vinyl, a 7-inch single of “For What It’s Worth” and a print designed by Beatles‘ Revolver album artist Klaus Voorman. You can check out all available formats and pre-order them at Gallagher’s website.
Last month, Gallagher premiered seven songs from the album live at a gig in his hometown of Manchester, England. In addition to “Wall of Glass,” he performed “Greedy Soul,” “Bold,” “Paper Crown,” “It Doesn”t Have To Be That Way,” “Universal Gleam” and “You”d Better Run, You”d Better Hide,” as well as a number of Oasis tunes.
Gallagher will also tour North America for the first time as a solo artist. Ticket sales to the general public will begin June 29 at 10AM local time, with several pre-sales taking place before then, including one that begins today (June 23) at noon Eastern. See the dates below and visit the Tour section of Gallagher’s website for full details on tickets.
His touring band includes Jay Mehler on guitars, Mike Moore on guitars, Christian Madden on keyboards, Drew McConnell on bass and Dan McDougall on drums.
