Lily Allen gave birth to her first child, daughter Ethel Mary, last November after suffering two previous, high-profile miscarriages. Now, rumors abound that she and husband Sam Cooper are expecting their second child this December.

The Mirror reports that Allen, 27, had her three-month test this week and learned that all is well with the bun in her oven. A friend of the singer, who once said she was retiring from music and had been working on her own fashion boutique, reportedly said, "Lily has started telling her friends and everybody in her close circle is so excited for her. It was a surprise, but Lily and Sam are thrilled. The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it’s great timing."

Allen's road to motherhood has been quite a bumpy one. She and Cooper were heartbroken when she miscarried a boy at six months in 2010. She also suffered a miscarriage back in January 2008; the father was her boyfriend at the time, Ed Simons of Chemical Brothers fame.

The singer and mom-to-be made a surprise appearance at the Stone Roses gig last week, but her bump did not appear prominent. It could be creative concealment behind the coat she was wearing.

As for her other endeavor -- her music -- the singer did tweet that she was in the studio with producer Greg Kurstin, claiming that she was "throwing s--- at the wall and seeing if anything sticks." While Allen's comments seemed non-committal, word is she now plans to release new music in the spring, which will be several months after birthing her infant.

If the rumors are true, congrats to Allen and Cooper, and of course, little Ethel Mary, on their growing family.
