Just as they promised yesterday (March 11), Muse have debuted “Psycho,” the first single to emerge from the English rockers’ upcoming album, Drones. Watch the brand-new lyric video above.

The nearly six-minute, dark, stadium-rocker touches on all of the dystopian themes frontman Matt Bellamy previously prefaced in a press release.

“To me Drones are metaphorical psychopaths, which enable psychopathic behavior with no recourse,” he explained. “The world is run by drones utilizing drones to turn us all into drones. Drones explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”

The 12-track Drones will arrive on June 9 via Warner Bros., following the band's 2012 full-length The 2nd Law. Muse already have plans to premiere “Dead Inside” – their forthcoming LP’s second single and lead-off track – in a couple of weeks on March 23.
