The last time we heard from Prince, he released "Baltimore," a powerful tribute to the people of the city after the death of Freddie Gray. Now he's returned with a far less serious effort. The just-released "Hardrocklover" features slightly more traditional Prince subject matter (it's about courting a potential lover), but the sound is decidedly rock-inspired.

He sings "Turn my guitar up / So I can make this woman scream,” before taking a tongue-in-cheek jab at R&B. “Ain’t no rapper trying to be a singer / Come on, make a move … R&B ain’t got no place / But put some hard rock on, you’d better cover your ears / ‘Cause you’re about to hear a woman just scream.”

The song is a collaboration with his backing band 3rdEyeGirl and marks the third standalone track from Prince this year. Listen to it below and let us know what you think.
