Listen to Ra Ra Riot’s Exuberant New Song ‘Absolutely’

Ra Ra Riot rang in the New Year by sharing “Absolutely,” a second cut from their forthcoming album Need Your Light, on their “Inspiration Mix” Spotify playlist.

The joyous, anthemic new track doesn’t mask its agenda, proclaiming 2016 as the year of absolutes: “It’s the year of being / Absolutely nothing / Absolutely crushing / Absolutely everything / Absolutely loving,” frontman Wes Miles sings. Check out the song's lyric video at the top of the page.

Need Your Light -- a follow-up to 2013's Beta Love -- will land in stores on Feb. 19 via Barsuk Records. The indie-pop outfit has already shared lead single and album opener "Water," which features Miles' Discovery bandmate and Vampire Weekend multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij. Batmanglij also contributes to the upcoming Ra Ra Riot LP's title track, and he says the two songs recall his and Miles' erstwhile side project.

"I think we found that same freedom in making these songs that we had found years ago making the Discovery record," Batmanglij said, "not knowing where it would take us."
